Ghostbusters: The Video Game Ships Across North America
Word just dropped in my inbox that Atari’s highly anticipated Ghostbusters: The Video Game has just shipped across North America. This means that come Thursday it should be sitting on most game retailer’s store shelves for our consumption.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game was written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis of the original movies and comes 25 years after the release of the first Ghostbusters film. This new chapter is said to take place after the events of Ghostbusters 2 with Manhattan being overrun by ghouls. So who you gonna call?
Per the official press release, “In addition to Aykroyd and Ramis, original Ghostbusters Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson, and new love interest, Alyssa Milano, lend their voices and in-game likenesses to the original story set two years after Ghostbusters 2, with Manhattan once again overrun by ghosts and supernatural forces. The player joins up as a new recruit with the original team, testing a variety of unique equipment and gadgets, to track, wrangle and trap a wide range of awe-inspiring phantasms in an all-new, funny and frightening battle to save New York City from its latest paranormal plague.”
Our hands on time with Ghostbusters at E3 had us feeling a lot better about this one. Although we should have a review out for it shortly, it seems the early buzz for Ghostbusters is a positive one, and given that it’s coming out across multiple platforms means that anyone should be able to find a version suitable to their respective consoles.
